Destin Mahalik

Owner & President

With 12 years of hands-on experience as an installer and lead residential and commercial technician—and four additional years as President—Destin oversees the day-to-day operations of Looking Up Garage Doors. His role includes training and supporting technicians, meeting with clients to plan new doors and repairs, budgeting, and leading the team with clarity and purpose. Destin is deeply committed to earning the trust of every customer and making their home’s largest entrance reliable, safe, quiet, and beautiful.

He has a particular passion for high-lift track systems, maximizing headroom, and the precise math and formulas behind garage door torsion springs.

Outside of work, Destin loves spending time with his wife, Emma, and their four children—Zion, Hosanna, Lazarus, and Boaz. They enjoy trips to Ocean City, New Jersey, time with extended family and church friends, Little League sports, cheering on the Eagles and Phillies, slow-pitch softball, fantasy football, and chess.

Tom Muir

Founder & Owner

Tom founded Looking Up Garage Doors (formerly Suburban Overhead Doors) in 1985 with a commitment to building a company rooted in honesty, reliability, generosity, and expert craftsmanship. With more than 40 years of hands-on experience, he has seen just about every garage door challenge imaginable. Today, Tom advises on complex projects, supports technicians with tricky diagnoses, and continues to run service calls himself. Warm, personable, and genuinely invested in people, he loves talking with customers, understanding their unique needs, and finding solutions—even for jobs others consider impossible.

Tom works closely with his nephews, Destin and Caleb, and views every employee as part of the Looking Up Garage Doors family. His kindness, approachability, and dedication to people have shaped the company’s culture from day one. Outside of work, he enjoys wrestling—especially cheering on Penn State—and spending time with his loved ones.

Andrew

Operations Manager & Lead Commercial Technician

Andrew brings nearly a decade of experience in both residential and commercial garage door systems. As Operations Manager, he oversees accounting, the finance department, and the optimization of our operating software. In his field role as Lead Commercial Technician, he performs large-scale installations and repairs while also training and advancing employees.

With a strong talent for diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical systems, Andrew loves the challenge of a malfunctioning system, solving the puzzle, and giving customers a sense of comfort and confidence in their home or business.

Outside of work, Andrew enjoys life with his wife, Lindsay, and their daughters: Anastasia, Aurora, and Avaya. He enjoys archery, sampling hot sauces of all heat levels, and tackling DIY projects (usually ones requested by his wife). His church community is an important part of his life, and he’s passionate about teaching his children to know and love Jesus and the joy that comes with following Him.

Kelsey

Sales Manager

Kelsey has been part of Looking Up Garage Doors for nearly four years, bringing over a decade of customer service and sales experience to her role. With her warm, welcoming personality and strong communication skills, she helps guide customers through the process of choosing the perfect additions to their homes. Kelsey loves interacting with people and feels honored to play a role in choosing upgrades that shape the homes where so many family memories are made.

When she’s not helping customers, you’ll find her enjoying casual dinners and outings with family and friends, watching Eagles football, or working on bridal artistry, one of her creative passions.

Ben

Customer Service Representative

With more than 10 years of customer service experience, Ben is dedicated to helping customers with everything from booking repairs to answering questions about their garage doors and openers. He loves helping people make sense of garage door issues, listening to their concerns, offering clear next steps, and matching them with the right technician or solution. For Ben, it’s deeply rewarding to create a positive customer experience from the very first phone call. Whether he’s scheduling a technician or offering quick troubleshooting support, Ben works hard to ensure every customer feels heard, supported, and confident in the next steps.

Married with four children, Ben appreciates the positive team atmosphere at Looking Up Garage Doors, where everyone works hard and supports one another. In his free time, he enjoys long walks on the beach with his wife.

Caleb

Lead Installer & Service Specialist

Caleb has been repairing and installing garage doors for four years, and there’s not much in the garage-door world he hasn’t seen. From noisy rollers to full-door replacements, he provides honest recommendations and delivers reliable, high-quality work. Efficient, friendly, and easy to talk to, Caleb takes pride in making sure every garage door he services operates smoothly, quietly, and safely.

With a background in painting and general construction, Caleb brings strong hands-on experience to the team. He enjoys working alongside his uncle Tom and brother Destin in an environment where everyone truly cares about each other. Outside of work, he loves watching the Eagles, coaching football, and spending time with his nieces and nephews at games and family dinners.

Mike

Garage Door Service Technician

Mike is a highly skilled garage door service and installation expert known for quick diagnostics, quality repairs, and clean, precise workmanship. Friendly, dependable, and thorough, he treats every home as if it were his own and takes pride in helping customers keep their homes safe and running smoothly. Mike enjoys meeting new people each day and appreciates that no two jobs are ever the same; each one brings a fresh challenge and the chance to make a meaningful difference for a customer.

At home, Mike enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids. In his free time, he’s usually watching or playing something sports-related.

Colin

Garage Door Service Technician

Colin is a skilled garage door technician with a talent for visual diagnosis and hands-on repair. With a natural ability to evaluate issues visually and a strong skill set with tools, he takes pride in helping customers feel safe and cared for. Whether he’s installing a new door or troubleshooting a tricky opener, he greets every customer with a warm, friendly attitude. Colin loves the honesty and teamwork within the Looking Up Garage Doors family, and values working for an owner who genuinely cares about both employees and customers. He enjoys visiting different homes each day and seeing the wide variety of garage setups he can help improve.

Outside of work, Colin loves spending time with his wife, Katie, and their three daughters—Gia, Khloe, and Harper.
